Mount Tamalpais, San Francisco Bay Area. Engagement Session
I’m utterly speechless over this one. This early spring engagement photo session with Javier & Savannah was one for the books. Mt. Tamalpais is one of the most beautiful areas that the SF Bay Area has to offer. The area draws hikers, cyclists, horse back riders - you name it! The rolling hills, the Redwood forests, the camping, the views - it’s all just STUNNING. So when my couples or families are interested in this area, I always give a resounding YES!
We began our session at the base of Mt. Tam near downtown Mill Valley and got some very cool staircase photos in the shaded and windy mountain neighborhood. From there, we hopped back in the car and began the journey up the mountain! I have my favorite spot right on the side of the road (parking is tough but it’s so worth it!) and we got one of my favorite sprawling views of the hills and fields with perfect golden hour lighting.
From there, we hopped back in the car and caravanned even farther up Mt. Tam to the my very favorite top point, Trojan Point. Trojan Point is also tricky to get to but man oh man, do those scenic ocean views take my breath away. The sunset was incredible with a warm breeze that worked perfectly with Savannah’s flowy dress.
After Trojan Point, we hopped BACK in the car to head to our final destination, Stinson Beach for blue hour. We couldn’t have asked for better pink fluffy clouds or cooler rolling fog. It was such a joy!
Mt. Tam is not for the faint of heart (twists and turns abound, cyclists galore, and if you get car sick then well… 🥴) but I’ll follow any client here that wants to brave the mountain roads for these views! From the weather to the stunning sunset to their wardrobe to most importantly their love for each other, this session was a joy. 🥹 S & J, were a true delight and I adored their engagement session.
