San Jose, California. Wedding at The Sikh Gurdwara of San José

Chandan and Kaush are easily two of my favorite people I’ve ever met in our time in San Francisco. Chandan and I started talking almost a year prior to their wedding and then covid happened. Their wedding was delayed like oh so many others and we decided to put a pin in our plans for the time being.

When she reached back out to me in 2021 I was so thrilled that she and Kaush still wanted me to photograph their 3 separate ceremonies. Honestly, there is nothing more flattering and smile-inducing than knowing that two very intelligent and artistic professionals trusted me to capture their 3 separate days, despite my unfamiliarity with Indian wedding ceremonies.

This is the blog post of their first day at the Sikh Gurdwara of San José. It was an intimate Sikh ceremony with only close family members, some even traveled all the way from India! So incredible.

The ceremony itself is sacred, methodical and beautiful. The family photos afterward were playful and bright - truly a joy to photograph. We ended the day with couple portraits around the breathtaking Gurdwara. I’ll let the stunning couple speak for themselves in these images. It was a magical day.
